The new Space Explorer in the original style finishes of hammered Blue and Grey. These versions are faithful reproductions of the originals by Yonezawa in the 1960s. Strictly limited to just 200 units, each with a unique stamped serial number and ID card.

Originally produced by the Yonezawa Company of Japan, in the early 1960s. True to the original, our Space Explorer is based on the robust Winky! Robot chassis and features the famous grinning boy's faced astronaut lithography. This version by Planet Robot is faithfully reproduced and true to the originals.
Commemorating this new release, White Space Explorer is also offered as a set together with a new Red Winky Robot. Complementing the Space Explorer in a dashing red finish, Red Winky was inspired by another classic Yonezawa production - the Telephone Robot. (The new Space Explorer & Red Winky Set is limited to just 100 with the first 50 exclusively avaialble as a set to members as a member's special).
Similar to the originals, the new Space Explorers and Red Winky faithfully captures the details and feel of the classics. These new limited edition interpretations by Planet Robot will surely become classic collectibles in time.
As always, Planet Robot productions are of the finest hand-assembled quality and absolutely limited. Each one individually stamped with a unique serial number and comes with an ID card bearing the same.
Featuring smooth running clockwork mechanism with attached wind-up key. Space Explorer and Red Winky has been produced faithfully to the classic details - from the winking eyes to the sweeping chest dial, the detailed lithograph for the astronaut face to the fantastic shower of sparks behind gaping mouths, hard rubber ears and extendable antenna to the small yet significant rivets on the bottom foot plate! These are Planet Robot True Limit Productions, no expense spared.
The new Space Explorer comes with the correct old style glossy stapled box featuring beautifully sharp color lithography of the classic boxart whilst Red Winky comes with a brand new boxart inspired by the Telephone Robot style graphics. Both produced with the same zealous attention to detail as the robots themselves. The artwork is a curious blend of photo images overlayed with hand-drawn backgrounds which Yonezawa is fond of doing.
